1900 - Kodak introduces the brownie camera
1902 - Photo-Secession movement promoted and led by photographer Alfred Steiglitz
1902 -Telephotography developed by Arthur Korn
1907- Color film Autochrome plates introduced by the Lumiere brothers
1917- Nippon Kogaku established in Tokyo which eventually becomes Nikon
1921- Man Ray begins making photograms
1924- Leitz introduces the first 35mm Leica camera
1925- Andre Kertesz begins his 11-year project to photograph the street life of Paris
